Board and list views

Switch between a drag-and-drop Kanban board and a sortable list, and organize your projects into custom groups.

The Projects page has two ways to see your projects: a board that arranges them into columns you can drag between, and a list that lays them out as a table. Both live behind the same toggle in the toolbar.

Switch views

In the toolbar, use the two buttons next to the search box: the grid icon for Board view and the lines icon for List view. Your choice is remembered for next time.

Note

Board view is the default. There are no saved or custom views — the toggle just flips between the board and the list.

Work on the board

The board groups projects into columns (your Groups, such as Lead or In Progress).

  1. Move a project — drag its card from one column to another to change its group, or drag within a column to reorder.
  2. Add a project — click Add Project in the toolbar.
  3. Edit a project — hover a card and click the pencil.
  4. Search — type in the search box to filter by project name or contact.

Manage groups

Groups are the board's columns.

  1. Click Add group at the end of the columns — Foreman creates one and opens its editor so you can rename and recolor it.
  2. Click any group header to rename it, change its color, or delete it.
  3. Drag a group header left or right to reorder your columns.

Work in the list

List view shows the same projects as a table — Project, Contact, Group, Type, Location, and Updated.

  1. Click any row to open the project.
  2. Hover a row and click the pencil to edit it.
  3. Use the Group filter to narrow to one group — or to Archived to see archived projects (these are hidden on the board).

Don’t see this?

Dragging cards, adding projects, and managing groups appear only if your role can edit projects and groups. Clients and vendors see a read-only board of just the projects shared with them.
