Budget version history
Undo and redo pending budget edits, and understand how saved snapshots differ from your current editing session.
Undo and Redo let you step through the budget changes you haven't saved yet. Saved snapshots are separate from this local editing history.
How snapshots are captured
You don't create snapshots manually. Each time you click Save changes and your buffered changes commit, Foreman records a saved version. The toolbar's Undo and Redo buttons do not browse or restore those saved versions.
Undo and redo a change
- Open the budget (Projects → a project → the Budget tab).
- Before saving, click Undo in the toolbar to reverse your most recent pending edit. (Toolbar controls are icon buttons — hover one to see its name.)
- Click Redo to re-apply a change you just undid.
- Click Save changes when the sheet is how you want it.
Note
A successful save starts a fresh editing history: Undo cannot reverse an edit from before that save. A new edit after Undo replaces the redo path. The keyboard shortcuts work too: ⌘/Ctrl + Z to undo, ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + Z (or ⌘/Ctrl + Y) to redo. While typing in a text field, those shortcuts follow the field's normal editing behavior.
If both Undo and Redo are greyed out, there's no earlier or later pending edit to move to. The budget sheet does not currently provide a saved-version browser.
Don’t see this?
Undo and Redo appear only when your role can edit the budget. If you don't see them, ask your organization owner for budget editing access.
