Build a schedule
Lay out your project's work on a drag-and-drop Gantt — add phases, drop in dated items, and organize them the way the job runs.
The Schedule is a drag-and-drop Gantt chart. The hierarchy is simple: a Schedule holds Phases, and each Phase holds Items — the dated bars you see on the timeline.
Open a project's schedule
- Open a project from Projects.
- Click the Schedule tab.
- The chart opens in Gantt view by default — a list of phases and items on the left, a timeline on the right.
Note
You can also open Schedule from the sidebar to see every project's schedule on one timeline. See "Organization-wide scheduling".
Add a phase
Phases are the containers that group related work (for example, Sitework, Framing, Finishes).
- At the bottom of the left pane, click Add Phase.
- A new phase is created and named for you — New Phase, then New Phase 2, and so on.
- Click the phase name to rename it inline.
Add an item
- Click Add Item at the bottom of the left pane.
- In the dialog, give the item a Title.
- Pick a Type to color-code the bar (Framing, Concrete, Electrical, and so on — these come from your shared type library).
- Choose the Phase it belongs to.
- Set the Start Date and End Date. Leave All Day on for whole-day work, or turn it off to add specific times.
- Optionally add Assignees and a Description.
- Click Create Item.
Note
An item with no dates still appears in the left pane so you can fill them in later — it just won't draw a bar on the timeline yet.
Group the timeline your way
Use the Group by dropdown at the top of the chart to change how rows are organized:
- On a project schedule: Phases (the default — phase headers with their items) or Assignees.
- On the org-wide schedule: Projects or Assignees.
Switch views or go fullscreen
- Use the View dropdown to switch between Gantt, Week, and Month (calendar) views.
- Click the Fullscreen button in the toolbar to expand the chart; press Escape to exit.
Don’t see this?
If the Add Phase, Add Item, and editing controls don't appear, your role has view-only access to the schedule. Ask your organization owner for edit access.
