Meet the assistant
Open Foreman's built-in assistant and have it create or edit real data — budgets, proposals, schedule, contacts — just by asking.
Foreman's assistant works inside the app on your real account — not a separate chatbot. Tell it what you want and it makes the change on your live data, ready for you to review.
Open the assistant
- Click Open assistant in the top-right of the dashboard. The panel slides in from the right.
- To work in full screen instead, open the assistant from its own page.
Ask it to do something
- Type what you want in the message box — for example, "Draft a budget for framing and drywall labor on the Oak St project."
- Press Send.
- Watch it work in real time — the budget, proposal, or record fills in as it goes.
Note
The assistant acts on your live data. Creating a draft is instant, but sending anything to a client (a proposal, an invoice) is still your call.
Start a fresh conversation
Click New chat at the top of the pane. You can keep several conversations open as tabs and switch between them.
What it can do
- Budgets — create them, add line items, adjust margin or markup.
- Records — draft proposals, change orders, and invoices.
- Schedule — lay out tasks and shift dates.
- Contacts — add clients and vendors, and look up past work.
See What you can ask the assistant for ready-to-use examples.
Note
The assistant can only do what your role is allowed to do — see How the assistant respects permissions.
