Rates & overtime setup

Set each member's burdened Standard and Overtime rates, then define the overtime rules that split hours automatically.

Labor cost comes from two settings: each member's hourly rates, and your organization's overtime rules. Set them once and Foreman prices every approved hour for you — no rate picking when logging time.

Set a member's rates

  1. From the sidebar, click Organization.
  2. Click the Members tab and open the member.
  3. Under their rates, enter a Standard and an Overtime amount.
  4. Click Save rates.

Note

Use burdened rates — wage plus taxes and overhead — so labor cost reflects what the work truly costs you.

The rate fields are read-only unless your role can manage the team. Ask your organization owner to set rates or grant you access.

Set your organization's overtime rules

  1. From the sidebar, click Organization.
  2. On the Settings tab, find the Overtime section.
  3. Turn on Daily overtime and set the hours-per-day threshold, Weekly overtime and its hours-per-week threshold, or both.
  4. If weekly overtime is on, choose which day the week starts on under Week starts on.
  5. Save your changes.

Note

When both rules apply, overtime is the greater of the two. Leave both off to track everything at the standard rate.

How the split works

Foreman applies overtime automatically. Hours past your thresholds are priced at each member's Overtime rate; everything else uses their Standard rate. You never pick a rate when logging time — the rules and the member's two rates decide it.

Note

A member with no overtime rate falls back to their standard rate, with overtime still tracked as hours.

Set break durations (optional)

In the Break durations section on the Settings tab, add the break lengths your crew uses (enter minutes like 30, or H:MM like 0:30). These become selectable break options on the live clock. Leave it empty for a single untimed Break button.
