Adding files

Upload PDFs, photos, and documents to a project or your company library — drag and drop or browse, with automatic categories.

Files is where every plan, photo, contract, and permit lives. You can add files at the company level — your shared library — or inside a specific project. Foreman accepts PDFs, images, Word, and Excel files.

Open Files

  1. From the sidebar, click Files.
  2. You'll land on your company files. To work inside a project instead, open the Project Files row, then pick a project — or open a project and use its Files tab.

Don’t see this?

If you don't see the upload buttons, your role may be read-only for files. Ask your organization owner to grant file access.

Upload a file

  1. In the toolbar, click Upload File.
  2. Choose one or more files from your computer.
  3. They upload into the folder you're currently viewing and appear in the list as they finish.

Note

You can also drag files straight from your desktop onto the file list — a Drop files or folders to upload overlay appears while you drag.

Upload a whole folder

  1. Click Upload Folder.
  2. Pick a folder on your computer.
  3. Foreman recreates the folder structure and uploads every file inside it.

Categories

You don't pick a category by hand. Foreman tags each upload automatically — PDFs are filed as plans so you can open them for markup, and everything else is filed as a general file. Categories drive color tags and filtering; they never block you from opening a file.

File size

Each file can be up to 500MB, which comfortably covers large construction plan sets. Big files upload in chunks automatically — just leave the tab open until the progress bar finishes.
