ForemanFOREMAN

Managing files

Move, rename, download, and delete files — with one-click undo so a deleted file or folder is never really gone until you say so.

Once files are in Foreman, you can move them between folders, rename them, download them, and delete them — with undo to catch mistakes.

Move a file or folder

  1. Hover the row and click the move action (Move to folder).
  2. In the Move dialog, pick a destination folder, or choose Root to move it to the top level.
  3. Click Move.

Note

You can also drag a file or folder row directly onto another folder to move it. A move can't put a folder inside one of its own subfolders.

Move a company file into a project

In your company library, files have a Move to project action. Click it, pick a project, and the file moves into that project's files.

Rename a file

Click the file's name, edit the text, and press Enter.

Download a file

Click Download on the file's row to save a copy to your computer.

Delete — with undo

  1. Click Delete on a file or folder row.
  2. Confirm in the dialog. Deleting a folder also removes everything inside it.
  3. A toast appears with an Undo button — click it to bring the file or folder (and its contents) right back.

Note

Deleting a plan PDF also removes any takeoffs and markup saved on it — the confirmation dialog warns you first.

Don’t see this?

Deleting is a separate permission from uploading. If you can add files but the delete action is missing, your role doesn't include file deletion — ask your organization owner.
