Import contacts from a file
Bulk-add contacts from a CSV or other file — Foreman's assistant reads it and creates each one.
Moving a list of contacts into Foreman doesn't mean retyping them. Hand the file to Foreman's built-in assistant and it reads the contacts out and creates each one for you.
Import from a file
- From the sidebar, click Contacts.
- Click Import in the toolbar above the list.
- Pick your file. CSV works, and so do other common formats — plain text, PDF, images, and vCards.
- The Open assistant panel opens and the assistant reads the file, then creates a contact for each entry it finds — pulling in name, email, phone, and address when they're present.
Note
Only Name is required for each contact. The assistant fills in whatever other details the file contains and skips the rest.
Don’t see this?
If you don't see the Import button, your role may not be able to add contacts. Ask your organization owner to grant it.
Tips for a clean import
- Put one contact per row, with a header row naming each column (Name, Email, Phone, and so on).
- Review the new contacts in your list afterward and open any that need a correction.
Coming from QuickBooks
If you've connected QuickBooks, your clients sync into Foreman automatically — there's no separate import step to run.
