Lead lifecycle stages

Track where each contact stands — from a new lead to an active or past client.

Every contact has a Stage that shows where they stand with you. Use it to keep your pipeline organized — who's new, who's working with you now, and who's wrapped up.

The stages

Foreman ships with six stages:

  • Lead — a new contact you haven't qualified yet. Every new contact starts here.
  • Prospect — an active opportunity you're pursuing.
  • Active — someone you're currently doing work for.
  • Past Client — a finished relationship you may return to.
  • Lost — an opportunity that didn't close.
  • Archived — set aside, out of your active list.

Change a contact's stage

  1. From the sidebar, click Contacts.
  2. Double-click the contact to open it. (A single click selects the row; on a phone or tablet a single tap opens it.)
  3. In the Stage dropdown, pick the new stage.
  4. Click Save.

Note

The Stage dropdown only appears when you open an existing contact. Brand-new contacts are always created as a Lead.

The Stage column in the contact list shows each contact's current stage as a colored pill, so you can scan your whole pipeline at once. To focus on one stage, click Filters in the toolbar and pick a Stage — the list offers All Stages plus every stage above.
