Your profile & notifications

Edit your name, manage how you sign in, and add your phone number.

Your profile is your personal account in Foreman — separate from your company's organization settings.

Hover over a question mark beside a settings title to read its explanation. You can also use Tab to focus the question mark.

Open your account

  1. At the bottom of the sidebar, click the Account entry (the gear icon next to your name).
  2. This opens the Settings page on the Account tab.

Edit your profile

  1. Update your First Name and Last Name.
  2. Edit your Email if it's available to change.
  3. Click Save changes.

Add a phone number

  1. On the Account tab, find Phone.
  2. Click Add phone number, enter your number, and confirm the code we text you.

Note

Adding a phone number lets you sign in with a one-time code and receive text updates.

How you can sign in

Foreman supports several sign-in methods — use whichever you prefer:

  • Email and password
  • Magic link sent to your email
  • Phone one-time code

Note

Signing in with Google is no longer supported. If that is how you used to get in, use Create or reset password on the sign-in page — it emails you a link that sets a password on your existing account. Nothing else about your account changes.

Notifications

Orange navigation counts on Records, Schedule and To-Dos reflect your unread project updates across the projects you can access. Messages counts unread conversations, including discussions about to-dos and other items. Discussion messages appear only under Messages; opening the related item does not mark its conversation as read. In a discussion, use the Open link beside the participant avatars in the top right to open the related item. Projects has no navigation badge; individual project cards and rows still show their own unread totals. On a phone, the same counts appear in navigation and More; a dot on More signals updates in one of its additional sections. Opening a section does not clear its count. Open the relevant item or conversation to read its updates; attention that requires an action remains until that action is resolved.

Foreman emails you about important activity on your projects — like when a client views or signs a record, or when a payment comes in. These come from hello@foreman.co.

Note

Add hello@foreman.co to your contacts so notifications don't land in spam.

Sign out

On the Account tab, click Sign out. If you belong to more than one company, switch between them from the same menu without signing out.

Choose your weekly schedule summary

Open your profile's Notifications tab and find Weekly schedule summary. Turn Send weekly schedule summary on or off for the current company. When enabled, choose a 30, 60, or 90 day lookahead, or enter a custom number of calendar days. Choose Send on and Company local time, then click Save summary preferences.

The default lookahead is 30 days. Summaries group published assignments by project, include their full date ranges, and separate overdue work. Turning this summary off leaves individual assignment and date-change requests enabled and does not change other notification categories. The preference link in a schedule summary opens the same settings without requiring a login.
