Bid requests & Requests

Send a question form to one or more clients or vendors, attach plan references, and collect each recipient's answers in one place.

A Request is a question form you send out and collect answers on — a bid request to subs, an information request to a client, or any list of questions you need answered. It's the fifth record type, numbered REQ-001.

Create a request

  1. From Records, click Create Record.
  2. Pick the Project, then choose a request kind (for example Bid Request) under Requests.
  3. The builder opens.

Write the questions

  1. Give the request a title (for example, "Structural detail clarification").
  2. Type your first question, then click to add more — a request can carry as many questions as you need.
  3. Each recipient answers every question independently.

Set priority and a due date

  1. Pick a Priority — Low, Normal, High, or Urgent.
  2. Set a Due Date so recipients know when you need answers.

Attach plan references

If the question is about a drawing, attach the plan so recipients see exactly what you mean.

  1. Use the attachments area to add a plan reference with its markup.
  2. Recipients see your Plan Reference alongside the questions when they respond.

Add recipients and send

  1. In the side panel, add recipients with Add a recipient... — requests accept either clients or vendors.
  2. Click Send.
  3. Each recipient gets a link to answer in their portal.

Collect the answers

  1. Reopen the request from Records.
  2. Once recipients respond, the body shows Questions & Answers — each recipient's reply grouped under each question.
  3. The request moves through Open, then Responded as answers come in, and Closed when you're done.

If you can't create a request, your role may not allow it. Ask your organization owner.
